Shift/Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

GENERAL SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Pharmacist Supervisor. The Pharmacy Cashier's primary job functions include performing clerical duties associated with the business practice of pharmacy, including cashiering, pricing, delivering, reconciling delivery payments, managing will call/pickpoint, performing curbside service as needed, communicating refills and waiters to technicians and pharmacists, troubleshooting unfilled medications, answering non-professional telephone inquiries, transportation of medications to other areas of the pharmacy, documenting and processing third-party billing information for reimbursement. Performs other clerical duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required

Licensure:

• None

Experience:

• Previous cashier experience preferred

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

1.Collects payments for medications at the cash register and balances cash drawer.

2.Verifies and prepares deposits for the site-to-site couriers.

3.Reconciles cash and check delivery payments.

4.Manages will call/pickpoint.

5.Performs curbside service as needed.

6.Communicates refills and/or waiters to pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.

7.Troubleshoots unfilled medications.

8.Performs accurate pricing of prescriptions through RX30.

9.Performs clerical duties associated with the practice of pharmacy.

10. Orders appropriate medications through Amerisource.

11. Delivers patient specific medications or prescriptions to the floors for timely delivery.

12. Answers non-professional telephone inquiries and/or routes telephone inquiries to the appropriate staff members.

13. Transports medications between SOMC pharmacy sites for timely delivery.

14. Documents and processes third-party billing information for reimbursement or auditing purposes.

15. Performs other duties as assigned.
