Customer Experience

  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).

  • Develops strong relationships with most valuable customers.


  • Registers customer purchases on assigned cash register, collects cash and distributes change as requested; processes voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.

  • Recommends items for sale to customer and recommends trade-up and/or companion items. Assists with OTC products, and takes customer to aisle when possible.

  • Operates pharmacy systems to obtain patient prescription status.

  • Reports, immediately, prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.

  • Keeps counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, takes inventory, and maintains records. Checks in and prices merchandise as required or as directed by store manager or communicated by the shift leader.

  • Implements Company asset protection procedures to identify and minimize profit loss.

  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).

  • Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Completes resets and revisions as directed.

  • Has working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.

  • Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.

  • Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.

  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Training & Personal Development

  • Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.

  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.

  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.

Austin Health Center (HJAHC)</p> <p><strong>Project Name:</strong> Support for HJAP Strategic Goals</p> <p><strong>Project Number:</strong> </p> <p><strong>Project Period:</strong> 2021-2022</p> <p><strong>Background:</strong></p> <p>HJAHC will continue integration of clinical pharmacy services into the primary health care delivery model through efforts to expand clinical pharmacy services to improve community health outcomes and address health disparities worsened by the current COVID-19 pandemic. <strong>Expansion of Pharmacy hours, staffing and delivery services will maximize patient benefits from the 340B Program that enables covered entities to stretch scarce federal resources</strong> as far as possible, reaching more eligible patients and providing more comprehensive services. This is especially important as it ensures patients living in poverty get access to medication that would otherwise be too expensive and out of their reach. In addition, the Pharmacy will continue to develop sustainable expansion of HJAHC’s Medicare Chronic Care Management program. The CCM program brings evidence-based interventions that have been demonstrated to improve medication adherence and healthcare outcomes to medically- and financially-vulnerable populations that have been profoundly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, Quality metrics such as Uniform Data System (UDS) goals for Health Center patients nation-wide tell us that pre-existing inequities in health outcomes for patients living in poverty have widened dramatically during the COVID-19 pandemic. HJAP will focus on UDS goals related to Pharmacy services to address those gaps in quality care for our patients. </p> <p><strong>Site Name:</strong> 321 N. Warren Street, Trenton, New Jersey</p> <p><strong>Focus Area(s</strong>) - Using HJAHC Organizational strategic Goals to focus on intentional Integration and expansion of Pharmacy clinical services into Primary Health Care services. This will help address the current health disparities by making pharmacy services more assessable to clients and improve health outcomes of our vulnerable populations. The focus to achieve this will include:</p> <p>1. Henry J. Austin Pharmacy Department Expansion Goals</p> <p>2. Chronic Care Management (CCM) goals</p> <p>3. Uniform Data System (UDS) goals relevant to Pharmacy services</p> <p><strong>Note: Timelines will overlap</strong></p> <p><strong>VISTA Assignment Objectives and Member Activities</strong></p> <p><strong>Goal of the Project:</strong> There are three main goals for the Pharmacy Expansion Program assistant, driven by our Strategic Plan Goals as follows. The expectation is that the VISTA member provide support in achieving these goals; these are not individual metrics for the individual member:</p> <p><strong>Henry J. Austin Pharmacy Department Goals:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Average prescription capture rate of at least 80%</li> <li>Minimum 15% increase in the number of prescription transactions</li> </ul> <p><strong>Chronic Care Management (CCM) Goals:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Increase the average number of CCM patients per month by 20% </li> <li>Increasing the monthly engagement of CCM patients by 20% using educational resources Reducing the number of patients declining CCM services by engaging patients in educational resources</li> </ul> <p><strong>Uniform Data System (UDS) Goals:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum 91% compliance with the use of aspirin or another antiplatelet therapy in patients with Ischemic Vascular Disease (IVD) UDS measure</li> <li>2020 compliance rate: 83% (143/172 patients)</li> <li>Minimum 89.9% compliance with the use of statin therapy for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease UDS measure</li> <li>2020 compliance rate: 76% (920/1213 patients)</li> </ul> <p><strong>Objective of the Assignment 1:</strong> Create a Project charter for each Strategic goal and sub goals</p> <p><strong>Time Frame: </strong>Month 1</p> <p><strong>Member activities:</strong></p> <p>1. Identify the current baseline of all strategic goals and objectives</p> <p>2. Create the charter with plan for increasing achievements from baseline by target percentages.</p> <p><strong>Objective of the Assignment 2:</strong> Increase uptake of CCM services</p> <p><strong>Time Frame:</strong> Months 2-10</p> <p><strong>Member Activities: Work with Community Health Worker (CHW) and CCM Team on CCM Program</strong></p> <p>1. Attend bi-weekly CCM meetings</p> <p>2. Review and update SOPs for CCM to promote increased adoption and fiscal sustainability</p> <p>3. Work with CCM and QI Teams on strategies to develop CCM eligible patients from for enrollment</p> <p>4. Work with the Social Media VISTA and communications specialist to develop and disseminate educational materials to patients and staff, both new and existing</p> <p>5. Partner with the CCM CHW to identify successful strategies for maintaining patient engagement in CCM</p> <p>6. Evaluate existing structures for documentation and billing and work with clinical and finance team members to identify best practices for sustainability</p> <p><strong>Objective of the Assignment 3:</strong> <strong>Uniform Data System (UDS) Goals:</strong></p> <p>Time Frame: Months 3-10</p> <p><strong>Member Activities: </strong>Work with the QI Team on UDS Measures as the liaison of the Pharmacy department</p> <p>1. Learn Pharmacy related UDS measures (training) and Learn the benchmark for use of antiplatelet therapy in Ischemic Vascular Disease (IVD) and statin therapy in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.</p> <p>2. Work with the Pharmacy team to identify and support strategies for increasing compliance</p> <p>3. Create control plan to track upper and lower limits to ensure the compliance remains within acceptable control limits.</p> <p><strong>Objective of the Assignment 4:</strong> Increase departmental prescription transactions and capture rate</p> <p>Time Frame: Months 4-10</p> <p><strong>Member Activities: </strong></p> <p>1. Learn how to identify baseline capture rate and prescriptions transactions</p> <p>2. Work with Pharmacy team to create strategies to increase both capture rate and transactions</p> <p>3. Assist in developing strategies to expand Pharmacy delivery services</p> <p>4. Evaluate the role of Pharmacy delivery in increasing prescription capture rate </p> <p><strong>Objective of the Assignment 5: </strong>Create a Summary Document Regarding Implementation of the Program.</p> <p><strong>Time Frame:</strong> VISTA’s last two months- 11 and 12</p> <p>Member Activities:</p> <p>1. Summarize the yearlong activities</p> <p>2. Review the outcomes with regard to the Charter / departmental expectations</p> <p>3. Suggest areas of improvement for next year</p> <p>4.
