Positions in this function consult with customers, members, patients, providers, internal departments and / or external third parties on any or all of the following: Consult with and coordinate initial set up and on - going treatment plan for specialty drug patients, including DURs, co - pay assistance, ancillary products, scheduling Pharmacist consults and / or RN visits, and liaison with provider offices on labs, refill orders and prior authorizations.
Schedule pharmacist consultation appointments with members that participate in any of the clinical programs operationally supported by the Clinical Call Center
Document provider feedback in clinical database
Manage various incoming fax queues to ensure all provider feedback is appropriately captured
Report PHI related incidents in a timely manner and in accordance with HIPAA requirements
Document and store all returned mail based on standard operating procedures
Provide outstanding customer service to all inbound / outbound calls
Perform miscellaneous auxiliary functions essential to the efficient operation of the department
Collaborate in various department meetings and forums to enhance processes and share tips to increase workflow efficiency
Participate in User Acceptance Testing for projects that impact the Clinical Call Center
Other duties as assigned by Operations Team Manager
Review and advise on medications and treatment plans (based on review of medical case notes, medication list and lab results) to improve outcomes and avoid potential drug interactions
Discuss with patients life issues affecting medication adherence and provide advice on improving drug regimen compliance
Advise patients on alternate Rx fill strategies of retail versus mail order and options for financial assistance
May outreach to providers on suspected medication abuse situations
Review medication regimen for disease state for LTC facilities / hospice care / RN case managers / Medical Directors / clients and provide summaries and guidance on future medication plans. Advice may include alternate drug therapies, stopping a medication and/or lower cost alternative
Review medical case notes to determine on - going medication treatment plan and project future medication costs
Extensive work experience within own function
Work is frequently completed without established procedures
May act as a resource for others
May coordinate others' activities
Requires current pharmacy technician state license or national certification without restrictions based on regulatory requirements of worksite
High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
Ability to work regularly scheduled shifts within our hours of operation Monday - Friday (8 AM - 8 PM) including the training period, where lunches and breaks are scheduled, with the flexibility to adjust daily schedule
2 years of call center experience taking inbound and / or making outbound calls
Proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications including ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system application
State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician License
Fluent in Spanish
National Pharmacy Technician Certification
1 years of pharmacy related experience (includes retail pharmacy experience)
Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Highly motivated and self - directed
Ability to interact cross functionally within the organization
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
