SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to assist customers with their health care needs by filling prescriptions, providing clinical services and excellent customer service while supervising Pharmacy associates. Frequent independent judgments are essential. All duties described in this document are to be performed in keeping with the core values and service attributes consistent with the Rite Aid brand and strategy.

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, applicable to state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.

  • Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs including appropriate immunization and when available MTM (Medication Therapy Management), DCS (Diabetes Care Specialist), and all ongoing other programs as identified.

  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and providing healthcare counseling.

  • Supervise the work completed by support staff while on duty.

  • Assist with training, coaching and managing the pharmacy associates and assume management responsibility over the entire pharmacy as needed.

  • Maintain appropriate security of the Pharmacy department.

  • Comply with HIPAA and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations.

  • Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.

  • Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise.

  • Assist with maintaining the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.

  • Prioritize Pharmacy Department tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner. Including, but not limited, to cycle counts, inventory management and will-calls to customers.

Experience / Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Pharmacy or Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.).

  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e. APhA).

  • Active Pharmacist license in good standing in the state for which you are applying.

VIEW JOBS 11/1/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-30T00:00 <p> Crossroads Treatment Centers is seeking a Pharmacist Consultant to work 2- 3 hours, 1 day per week in Toms River. </p><p><br></p><p>The Pharmacist Consultant is directly responsible for the direction, provision, and monitoring of pharmaceutical services in accordance with orders from the Medical Director. </p><p><br></p><p>The Pharmacist Consultant position is: </p><p>1. A Contractor position, supervised by the Program Director </p><p>2. Responsible for Supervisory Responsibilities, supervising pharmacy technicians and pharmacy staff </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Job Duties and Responsibilities </strong></p><p>Subject to the supervision of the Program Director, the Pharmacist Consultant shall, at minimum: </p><p>1. Order and/or receive all medications from medication supplier (as authorized by executed Powers of Attorney) and conduct inventory review of controlled substances, reconcile variances, and report variances to appropriate authorities </p><p>2. Work with the Governing Authority to develop policies and procedures for the delivery of quality pharmacy services to patients </p><p>3. Ensure that Pharmacy Policies and Procedures are being followed in accordance with standards and patient care policies </p><p>4. Provide supervision to pharmacy staff, as needed, to ensure proper application of policies and procedures </p><p>5. Conduct bi-annual inspections of the pharmacy and document inspection findings </p><p>6. Be accountable for all medication inventory, including conducting regular Physical Inventory Counts to verify inventory stock and reviewing medication dispensing records </p><p>7. Oversee and review work of pharmacy technicians and provide counsel to dosing nurses regarding policies and procedures, including ensuring that all pharmacy staff are trained on applicable policies and procedures </p><p>8. Ensure that pharmacy dispensing equipment is kept clean and in good operating condition, including making sure that the back-up pump is on-site, ready for use, and correctly calibrated </p><p>9. Ensure that proper medical waste procedures are in use for any medical waste generated by the activities of the pharmacist or pharmacy technician </p><p>10. Complete pharmacy reports, accountability audits, and records review, including dispensing records and DEA Form 222s </p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p> To be considered for the role of Pharmacist Consultant, one must meet the criteria outlined below and pass all pre-employment screenings, including criminal record checks as applicable according to state regulations. </p><p></p><p><i>Licensure, Education, and Experience Requirements: </i></p><p>The Pharmacist Consultant must, at minimum, be a licensed Pharmacist in the State of New Jersey and in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy. </p><p></p><p><i>Basic Skills Required: </i></p><p>The Pharmacist Consultant must have the ability to present information in a clear and meaningful way to patients, staff, and external auditors.
