Pharmacist (Pt/Prn)

Under general direction of the Assistant Director of Pharmacy, fulfills all legal requirements, including evaluation, selection, procurement and distribution of drugs, counseling and professional consultation.# Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as policies of Houston Healthcare.# Interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders.# Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals and related products for patient care by performing related duties. Responsible for supervising technicians on duty during shift.# Responsible for participating in Clinical and Quality Improvement programs established by department.

Bachelor or Doctorate degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy. Previous hospital/retail pharmacy experience.Current licensure by the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy.# AHA BLS required.# AHA ACLS required within 9 months of hire. Ability to represent HHC in a positive and professional manner; ability to maintain regulatory requirements; ability to maintain customer confidentiality at all times; ability to comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices; ability to exercise judgment, ability to interact with all types of people; ability to maintain composure with irate customers; ability to use time effectively.# Utilizes pharmaceutical equipment to include prescription balance, Laminar Flow Hoods and compounding equipment.
