The Department of Pharmacy has an exciting opportunity for a Per-Diem Pharmacist to work in UHealth Tower.

The Pharmacist
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Implements and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policies and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.
2.Compounds and dispenses medications, as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
3.Calculates the volume of medication required to produce the desired results to ensure proper dosages.
4.Assesses the identity, strength, and purity of medications.
5.Reviews prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability.
6.Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
7.Analyzes prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions.
8.Maintains records, such as pharmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
9.Advises customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
PharmD degree required.
Pharmacist license required.
One year relevant work experience required.
