The Pharmacist is responsible for daily operations, personnel management and regulatory compliance of pharmacy services for Baylor Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center, when on duty without the Director being present. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Pharmacist communicates the needs of the department to The Director of the Department and collaborates with medical staff regarding prescriptive issues and therapy recommendations. The Pharmacist supports management team in meeting facility goals.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrate competent administrative, leadership and management, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Knowledge of JCAHO and Medicare standards affecting pharmacy.
Must possess ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Possess the ability to deal tactfully with all types of personnel, medical staff and the public.
Possess the ability to make independent decisions.
Must have ability to act as liaison between personnel and management.
Ability to utilize Electronic Heath Care Record for patient documentation.
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy, required.
Current Texas Registered Pharmacist (R.Ph) license
Current BLS required, ACLS and PALS preferred
Specific Job Experience
Minimum five (5) years hospital pharmacy experience
Minimum two (2) years' experience in a supervisor capacity
