JOB SUMMARY:

The Oncology Informatics Pharmacist will support the conversion to Cerner Oncology, with a primary focus on electronic ordering of chemotherapy and other high risk infusions. The dedicated pharmacist resource will provide clinical expertise, and assist in the design, build, and support of oncology and the medication process in the electronic medical record.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a clinical and technical resource for the Pharmacy Informatics Team, IS clinical analysts, and oncology clinicians

  • Design, build, test, and support electronic orders, order sets, and regimens

  • Participate in all oncology project and order set governance meetings

  • Support the inpatient and outpatient pharmacy systems as necessary to support oncology and infusion room workflow

  • Assist in developing education content for end users

  • Facilitate the standardization of chemotherapy ordering and workflow across the PSH oncology network

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

B.S. or Pharm.D. degree in pharmacy required.

Current Pennsylvania Licensure or eligibility required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous oncology experience and/or Pharmacy Informatics experience preferred

JOB SUMMARY: The pharmacy intern serves a dual function within the Pharmacy Department and the Medical Center: 1) assist pharmacists with their day to day duties and responsibilities by learning and performing the technical aspects of pharmacy practice, 2) learn to function at the level of staff pharmacist by learning and performing the duties of the position and attaining competency to apply pharmacotherapy knowledge to the patient care setting. The primary goal of the pharmacy intern is development into a competent practitioner upon graduation and licensure. All duties and responsibilities of the pharmacy intern are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist acting as preceptor according to the State Board of Pharmacy regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy AND holds or is eligible for a Pennsylvania Pharmacy Intern License and is in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy OR Student in first two years of college AND has been accepted into an ACPE accredited college of pharmacy Each intern must register a Hershey Medical Center pharmacist as their Intern preceptor according to the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
