1.Provide and promote efficient and courteous patient counseling service to customers at all times.

2.Follow Food City operating policies and procedures, including compliance with governmental laws.

3.Maximize sales and profits by promoting customer satisfaction and achieving acceptable levels of gross margin.

4.Direct the duties of department associates during the time the Pharmacy Manager is off.

5.Provide pharmacy associates with training and development in required skills and areas of job responsibilities.

6.Ensure associates motivation and enthusiasm is at positive level.

7.Set an example of personal integrity, appearance and ethical business practices which provide a standard of conduct for all departmental associates.

8.Fill prescriptions and evaluate prescriptions for completeness, accuracy and legality.

9.Check prescriptions for proper contents and labeling.

  1. Maintain adequate patient information to ensure safety and appropriateness of prescriptions.

  2. Ensure prescription pricing follows established guidelines and procedures.

  3. Ensure inventory is maintained at appropriate levels; manage the merchandise ordering process and product selection in the pharmacy to maintain optimal Rx turns.

  4. Maintain a high level of inventory quality keeping a close inspection of returns and out-of-date product.

  5. Ensure compliance with corporate security and loss prevention policies and procedures.

  6. Ensure the accuracy and completion of all required paperwork and reports.

  7. Make, mix and compound prescriptions for the customer and give over-the-counter recommendations. .

  8. Enforce and maintain all safety policies and procedures while being aware of possible safety hazards for associates and customers and eliminate potential hazards.

  9. Maintain a neat and clean work area and direct normal housekeeping duties. .

  10. Operate cash register as necessary during pharmacy technician's breaks and lunches as necessary.

  11. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Important Note: Nicotine is part of our pre-employment drug screen Responsibilities The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is a member of the multidisciplinary care team, providing clinical pharmacy services to patients including pharmacokinetic consultations, total parenteral nutrition consultations, anticoagulation management, antimicrobial stewardship, medication reconciliation, discharge counseling, formulary management, and compliance with clinical pathways and protocols. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist will work centrally and de-centrally to perform all functions of a clinical pharmacist including accurate dispensing, clinical rounding, including patient involvement, and supervision of the technicians. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist will serve as a resource to other health care professionals through education and training programs. The Clinical Staff Pharmacist will apply clinical systems technology and distribution automation systems to provide effective, high quality, safe patient care. Participate in all aspects of CHI Memorial's comprehensive clinical pharmacy services including rounds with medical teams, pharmacokinetic consultations, parenteral nutrition consultations, anticoagulation management, antimicrobial stewardship monitoring, medication reconciliation, discharge counseling, documentation of clinical interventions in the identified data base, and compliance with clinical pathways and protocols Process prescriber orders in the identified pharmacy information systems in an effective, efficient, timely, safe and accurate manner to ensure the appropriateness of the indication, dose/frequency, route, interactions, dose adjustment, physical and therapeutic incompatibilities, side effects, duplicate therapies, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate need for all non-formulary medication required. Provide direct oversight and timely and accurate verification of final product for all aseptic parenteral and non-parenteral medication preparation, dispensing and distribution in compliance with state, federal statues and hospital procedures. Ensure doses are filled and delivered within established departmental guidelines in a timely and safe manner. Identify and evaluate adverse drug reactions and medication errors Provide enhanced communication and drug information to healthcare workers and patients Provide teaching, supervision, and serve as a role model to technicians, residents, and students Participate in professional activities within the department and in the community Other duties as assigned by management Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR 3 years' experience in the discipline OR Master's Degree and no experience Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved College of Pharmacy with a BS, MS, or Pharm D degree, including didactic courses and experiential rotations in the clinical aspects of pharmaceutical care. Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 residency program or equivalent clinical experience Licensed as a registered pharmacist by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy. Licensure must be received within 90 days from the first day of employment. Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards and techniques relating to the compounding and dispensing of medicinal drugs. Knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to the pharmacy profession. Ability to use automated systems and office equipment at an acceptable level of proficiency. Knowledge of the principles and practices of pharmaceutical care, including IV fluids, IV additive programs, automated dispensing systems, and IV therapy services.
