As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist Immuno-Oncology in the West Virginia territory, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.

AstraZeneca's vision in Oncology is to help patients by redefining the cancer-treatment paradigm, with the aim of bringing six new cancer medicines to patients between 2013 and 2020. A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on four disease areas - breast, ovarian, lung and hematological cancers. As well as other tumor types, these are being targeted through four key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for selling, maintaining and documenting all sales activities for the AstraZeneca Oncology portfolio of products to physicians in private practice, in group practices, in hospital settings, and Oncology residency and fellowship programs within a defined geographic territory. Work with Regional Account Director, District Sales Managers and PSS counterparts to develop and direct sales strategies at key accounts assigned in the territory.

You will be responsible for positioning AstraZeneca as a leader in Oncology commitment through development of long term relationships with Key Customers and maintaining a high level of clinical expertise by consistently utilizing all available medical information resources. You will also develop and implement clinical sales presentations to groups of healthcare personnel, as well as maximize key physician contact by networking within accounts and at all medical meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • At least two years of documented, successful pharmaceutical sales, or at the discretion of those involved in the hiring process, related sales to physicians and hospitals such as medical equipment

  • Knowledge and experience selling of Oncology products or diseases required

  • Experience and understanding of buy and bill process for Oncology products

  • History of building and influencing customer relationships, and goal achievement

  • Demonstrated clinical selling skills and business acumen in complex selling environment

  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record

Primary duties may include but are not limited to: * Uses appropriate screening criteria knowledge and clinical judgment to assess member needs. * Conducts assessments to identify individual needs and develops care plan to address objectives and goals as identified during assessment. * Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of care plan and modifies plan as needed. * Supports member access to appropriate quality and cost effective care. * Coordinates with internal and external resources to meet identified needs of the members and collaborates with providers. * Requires MS or MA in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field or a degree in nursing * 3 years clinical experience in social work counseling with broad range of experience with complex psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder treatment; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background. * Current active unrestricted license as an RN, LCSW (as applicable by state law and scope of practice), LMHC, LPC (as allowed by applicable state laws), LMFT, or Clinical Psychologist to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in the state of West Virginia required. * Experience in case management and telephonic and/or in person coaching with members with a broad range of complex psychiatric/substance abuse and/or medical disorders preferred. * For Government business only LAPC, LAMFT, LMSW (as allowed by applicable state laws) is also acceptable in addition to other licensure referenced above; and any other state or federal requirements that may apply. * Travel required to inpatient facilities 1-3 times per week.
