Summary:
Under general supervision, provides professional public health nursing services in accordance with Georgia State Nursing Protocols.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Provide wide range of Public Health Nursing Services including Family Planning, Sexually Transmitted Infection testing and treatment, Immunizations and Well Women and Breast Test and More exams using Department of Public Health Nurse Protocols for Registered Professional Nurses. Respond to Public Health emergencies, including natural disasters.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
BSN in nursing and one-year experience as a Registered Professional Nurse in Adult Health services area. 1-3 years Public Health Nursing experience. Gynecological experience, STD testing/Family Planning Experience.

Salary Information: $ 48,600 annual / Pay Grade K

Vaccine administration and management for all age groups, child health screenings for school entry, and lab services as indicated including phlebotomy and pregnancy testing. Provides Travel consults by assessing the need for travel vaccines and malaria prophylaxis and follows protocol and CDC recommendations. Counsel clients on other risks they may encounter when traveling. Performs comprehensive assessment of clients' health care needs and developmental screenings. Provides treatments, administers medications. Participate in drills and exercises on pandemic influenza, mass sheltering and mass dispensing. Provides case management to patients/families consistent with care plan and BOH Policies and Procedures. Provides health education instruction and/or classes to individuals, families and others for the promotion and maintenance of health. Screens and refers clients to other community service providers.
