Paygrade and Salary: L-$58,547.06, M-$66,168.17

General Nature of Work
Serves as the Land Use Team Leader for the On-Site Sewage, Drinking and Irrigation Water Wells, and the Rabies Surveillance and Control Programs.
Serves in a lead role and supervises the work of other Environmentalists
Performs inspections, interviews, investigations, and technical reviews for an environmental health program in a public health department.
Investigates complaints and recommends enforcement action as necessary.
Fieldwork may require working in adverse weather conditions.
Investigates/responds to potential health hazards
May be assigned to assist in other counties in the district
May drive company vehicles (valid driver's license required)
Responds to Public Health Emergencies
Provides exceptional customer service and maintains HIPAA Standards.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which includes the completion of 27 semester or 40 quarter hours in laboratory sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, geology, physics, etc.) and one (1) year of experience at the lower level PH Envir Compl Specialist 3 (RCP122) or equivalent position.. (Please mail or bring a copy of College Transcript or Diploma to Interview-must have official transcript prior to start date). This position requires the ability to stoop, bend, reach, and lift 60 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree
Registered Environmental Health Specialist or Registered Sanitarian by the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) or the recognized credentialing board of a state or country having equivalent standards as NEHA
Previous employment with any state's Department of Public Health or a County Board of Health
Previous supervisory/management experience
A State Merit Application for Employment must be received by this office no later than the deadline. Highlight any experience related to the Preferred Qualifications. This position may require driving company vehicles (Valid driver's license required) and working some evenings and weekends during special events such as health fairs and responding to disasters.
