The Opportunity

Vallen is currently seeking an Industrial Inside Sales/Customer Service Rep to focus on inside sales and customer service at our branch location for our Industrial MRO and Safety customers. Vallen CSR's have the opportunity to work with one of the most extensive product lines in the business and are encouraged to be true resources for our customers by establishing long lasting relationships. Our Inside Reps will work with the support of a true team environment from partnering with the Outside Sales team to our Management team.

Qualifications & Benefits

  • 2+ years of inside sales and customer service experience is required

  • Experience working with PetroChemical customers is required

  • Excellent computer and data entry skills required

  • Must be proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook

  • Strong with client follow up, organizational skills, & excellent communication skills required.

  • Strong knowledge of Industrial MRO and Safety products is desired

  • Experience generating customer quotations desired

  • Experience in the Industrial MRO Distribution industry is a plus

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or combination of experience and education

Basic Function The Bayport Ethlyene Oxide plant is seeking a Maintenance I/E Technician preferably with analyzer experience to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be tasked to apply technical expertise daily to insure the safe and reliable operation of site equipment and to reduce operating costs by executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any job plan deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities. You will participate in reliability teams to identify and implement reliability driven improvements and committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development. Roles & Responsibilities Accountable for personal safety, the safety of co-workers and promoting a safe work environment; responsible for carrying out all work activities in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations. Provide technical expertise in the installation, acceptance testing, commissioning, pro-active maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of unit equipment including: Transformers, breakers and other power distribution equipment, motor starters, motors, etc. Level instruments, flow and pressure instruments, control valves, PLC's and other process and machinery control systems. Maintenance to site process equipment Execute scheduled work by: Reviewing assigned job scopes for completeness and understanding. Acquiring all necessary parts, tools, and instructions prior to starting the job to maximize work efficiency. Following all necessary safety procedures and practices to isolate, clear, and work on plant equipment. Ensuring work is completed per company and industry standards. Working with equipment owner to complete task in a safe and timely manner. Updating supervisor on job progress and any problems encountered in completing the defined scope of work. Completing all documentation using a computerized maintenance management system. Respond to tasks as directed by maintenance supervision with the appropriate sense of urgency to minimize impact to process units. Identify and implement reliability driven improvements. This may include participation in site reliability teams. Participate on committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development, and improving the work place environment. Candidate will also be required to mentor other mechanical maintenance technicians when necessary. Engage in frequent developmental dialog with supervisor and others to continually enhance personal and group performance and development. Min. Qualifications High School diploma or GED. 2 years of maintenance experience in both instrument and electrical crafts Understanding of equipment design and application for various types of electrical and/or instrumentation: pressure, temperature, level and flow devices, transformers, motor starters, circuit breakers, control circuits, etc.. Fundamental understanding of specification sheets, loop diagrams, and P&ID's, is required. Additionally, the candidate: Must be willing and able to provide overtime coverage Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language Must be willing and able to work occasional plant call-outs Must be will to work with hazardous and/or flammable chemicals (with proper safety precautions, training and equipment) Must be willing to work around and/or manually interact with heavy equipment Must be willing and able to stand and walk for extended periods of time Must be willing and able to work in environments that require frequent bending, reaching, and lifting (up to 50 pounds) Must be willing and able to work in tight or confined spaces Must adhere to all rules and procedures, contribute to a team setting, Availability to work shifts including weekends and holidays as needed. Complete tasks wearing required personal protective equipment which may include fire protective clothing, goggles, face shields, gloves, steel toe boots, hearing protection, respirators, etc. Basic computer software and hardware familiarity including competency with MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook). Experience with SAP or other computerized Maintenance Management systems Skilled in basic mathematics including first level algebra.
