As our Pet Grooming Salon Manager, you will:

  • Onboard all new salon associates and groomers, ensuring their completion of all training requirements and annual safety certifications, evaluating the quality of grooms, and providing ongoing learning opportunities

  • Perform Hands on Pet (HOP) assessment on all pets to recommend services and build trust with the pet parents

  • Perform dog grooming services to breed standards and to client's personal preferences and hold your groomers to those same standards

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of every pet and associate in the store, taking immediate action whenever necessary

This position performs responsible administrative and professional work planning and managing the operations, renewal, repair and maintenance of the water distribution, wastewater collection and reclaimed water systems, including compliance functions such as backflow prevention, industrial pretreatment, cross connection control, water quality maintenance and related warehouse and inventory controls. Works with division assistant managers to assure delivery of the highest level of service to water sewer, and reclaimed water customers. Work is performed under general direction of the deputy director of utilities, but also works with the director and departmental leadership team and cross-departmental leadership as needed. Essential Job Duties * Performs administrative functions including reviewing and prioritizing work schedules, reviewing payroll, purchase orders, incoming and outgoing correspondence * Plans, organizes, directs and inspects the work of subordinates working in water distribution, wastewater collection and reclaimed water systems including backflow prevention, industrial pretreatment, cross connection control and water quality maintenance. * Establishes goals, objectives, work plans and schedules * Develops operating policies and procedures * Develops, plans, and maintains communication with the public, contractors, and government agencies to receive complaints and suggestions; provides information and explanations regarding activities, projects and emergency type repairs; resolves disputes and conflicts as required * Provides technical assistance and expertise to other city departments on problems relating to the water distribution, wastewater collection and the reclaimed water systems * Reviews and evaluates engineering designs and specifications submitted for construction/rehabilitation of sewer lines, water lines and reclaimed water lines; provides input to consulting engineers using knowledge of existing collection and distribution systems. * Makes recommendations regarding operating policies, expenditures, plans and other administrative matters, to include writing justification memorandums for acquisitions. Recommends, prepares and administers the division budget assuring proper resources are available for existing needs and proper planning is conducted for future expansion, maintenance, inspection, and water quality services. * Communicates and coordinates City and departmental leadership objectives and conducts regular staff meetings with subordinates and coordinates division training programs Makes recommendations regarding hiring, discipline and promotions of subordinates; authorizes leave and overtime; evaluates and rates employee's performance. * Enforces laws, rules, regulations and policies to be followed in accordance with City ordinance, governmental regulatory agencies and departmental policies. Ensures the safety and proper use of tools, power equipment and motor vehicles. * Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis. Minimum Qualifications Associates Degree in Public Administration, Environmental Science, Business, or related field supplemented by eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience that includes utility operations, maintenance, repair, utility engineering, construction/design, plan review and administrative functions with five (5) years of supervisory experience. Must possess: * Level II or higher State of Florida Water Distribution Systems Operator License. * Class "A" Wastewater Collection certification. * Class "A" Reclaimed Water Certification. * Backflow prevention certification. * Certified in cross connection control. * A valid Florida Driver's License.with a good driving record. * Knowledge of the City's methods and standards and infrastructures for water and wastewater systems. * Knowledge of OSHA and City requirements in safety and operations and obtain ICS certifications. * Ability to prepare a budget. * Ability to manage and prioritize routine, specialized and complex assignments and problems utilizing knowledge acquired through prior education, training, and experience. * Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. * Ability to adapt to an evolving and continually improving environment. * Requires demonstrated ability to utilize personal computer and office software such as MS Word, MS Excel and electronic mail.
