About this Job:

  • Serve as a key scientific contributor in areas of animal, plant and/or environmental metabolism to ensure the safety of new pipeline and existing crop protection products

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of safety studies conducted externally with contract research partners

  • Accountable for ensuring that protocol design covers the intended uses and appropriate Regulatory guidelines, understanding and communicating data and results, and ensuring the quality of reports and submission documents.

  • Address metabolism-related issues and provide guidance to support decision making for the advancement of pipeline products as part of regional and global teams.

  • Excellent opportunities to develop and expand technical depth, breath and impact.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED

  • Minimum of a PhD with emphasis in organic chemistry, natural products, pharmacology, environmental science, or related disciplines

  • Background knowledge of metabolism and transformation of chemicals in plant, animal and/or environmental systems

  • Experience with and demonstrated ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams

  • Proven ability to root-cause and resolve or mitigate technically challenging problems

  • Ability to work independently to manage timelines and deliver results, while being an effective team contributor.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)

  • Aptitude with electronic word processing, spreadsheet and presentation systems, as well as comfort in using electronic systems and databases

  • The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate that they are eligible to live and carry out the particular role in the USA

DESIRED

  • Previous experience executing guideline studies for the registration of crop protection products.

  • Direct laboratory experience with the isolation and identification of unknown chemistry products in biological and/or environmental matrices

  • Expertise in conducting animal/livestock metabolism, plant metabolism and/or environmental fate studies

  • Experience in coordinating and directing work being conducted at external contract research organizations

  • Applied knowledge in Lean or other continuous improvement methodologies

  • Experience working in a GLP environment is also a plus.

High Point, NC is a commercial manufacturing and development site focusing on gelatin based drug delivery systems(softgels). High Point is a Softgel Center of Excellence since 1996, offering extensive development and commercial scale capabilities for a variety of softgel technologies. What Will You Do? * Lead the design, evaluation, and development of formulations and manufacturing processes for solid, semi-solid, or liquid dosage forms of new formulations and scale-up procedures of solid, semi-solid, or liquid dosage forms at the pre-clinical, clinical, and post marketing stages of drug development for client and POC projects * Lead/participate in problem solving for formulations, equipment, and processes. * Write and ensure timely execution of protocols and development reports for feasibility work and manufacturing batch records and clinical trial materials in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices and company standards. * Participate in relevant meetings/teleconferences with clients. * Develop realistic proposals and timelines. * Assist with new product development and build knowledge and experience in both new processing technologies and product formulation * Ability to work independently under direction from senior product development scientists on various tasks from rapid prototyping to formula optimization, cost savings, product improvements and applications testing, scale-up and commercialization * Assist with creating and maintaining formulations, specifications, processes, and testing procedures * Ability to assist with line trials within the manufacturing facilities, collect data and assess process and quality parameters to ensure finished product meets targets and/or specifications * Actively participates in helping to resolving roadblocks in product development and assist with new product launches * Stays current with new pharmaceutical ingredients, products and processing technologies * Collaborate within cross-functional teams to ensure new products are developed to targeted consumer preferences on time and to agreed-upon cost targets * Handling multiple projects and priorities at the same time. * Apply his/her scientific expertise to execute projects in a timely manner. * Manage project resources and timelines. * Be client and patient conscious, considering quality, safety and project needs at all times.
