Qualifications:
North Carolina Teaching Licensure
Master's Degree in Education related field preferred
Evidence of at least 3-4 years of successful teaching experience
Experience working with the North Carolina Teacher Evaluation Process and NCEES

Essential Job Functions:
Monitors Beginning Teacher Support Plan (BTSP) guidelines from NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI)
Ensures that all beginning teachers are scheduled for BTSP orientation
Develops/maintains BTSP Handbook with guidelines/requirements for first through third year participation
Provide updates of BTSP guidelines to beginning teachers, administrators, and mentors at each school
Collects, maintains, and reviews all BTSP documents
Oversees management of BTSP records, including professional development documentation and reports
Provides NCDPI/District with BTSP report/plan
Works closely with HCS Licensure Specialist to remains abreast of NCDPI Licensure requirements
Conducts school visits to assist mentor contacts with the maintenance of BTSP documents
Provides support, direction and feedback to beginning teachers, mentors and administrators
Provides support services for beginning teachers and mentors
Provides training, guidance and support for mentors of first, second, and third year teachers regarding their roles in the BTSP process
Offers ongoing instruction, support and guidance to beginning teachers regarding NC licensure requirements
Familiarizes teachers and administrators with North Carolina Teacher Evaluation Process, the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards, the Professional Development Plan (PDP), and classroom instruction/assessment
Orchestrates the system-wide collection of all BTSP requirements in accordance with DPI specifications
Coordinates with Professional Development regarding beginning teacher activities
Plans and collaborates with school system principals to provide support for school-mentors and beginning teachers
Collaborates with members of the HR team to deliver system-wide orientation, training, mentoring, and support programs beginning teachers
Collaborates with others to plan, develop, and coordinate new teacher orientation, training in school system policies and procedures beginning teachers, the beginning teacher support program, and other programs supporting teacher development
Provides guidance to mentors in developing and utilizing materials and techniques for instructional presentation
Maintains records for all aspects of Beginning Teacher support to comply with federal and state Title II requirements
Plans/coordinates/assists with various HR functions throughout the year including new employee orientation, substitute training, retirement recognitions, job fairs
Demonstrates awareness of school/community needs and supports activities to meet those needs
Assist in the coordination of recruitment efforts to attract viable candidates to the school district
Serves as the lead for various district initiatives including Cognitive Coaching, National Board Certified Teachers, etc.
Performs all other duties as assigned
