Job Description and Duties

Are you a self starter, highly motivated, detail-oriented and a team player? If you are, we need you! The Human Resources Operations unit has an immediate opening for a Transaction Specialist in Sacramento.

The job duties consist of:

• Processing personnel, payroll documents, and maintaining a personnel roster of approximately 300 employees

• Processing and communicating sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality and protecting Personal Identifiable Information (PII)

• Processing and maintaining attendance records

• Monitoring and updating of employee's benefits (health/dental/vision), etc

• Entering, verifying, and auditing data into the HRIS Oracle system and the State Controller's and CalPERS decentralized computer system

• Providing training, information, and guidance to State Fund employees

• Interpreting laws, rules, regulations and contract provisions independently

• Preparing reports and special projects

Competitive candidates should be able to demonstrate the following:

• Working knowledge of current office methods, procedures, equipment, basic math principles and State Fund standard software applications

• Ability to think logically and independently interpret and use reference material to make decisions

• Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Ability to interact professionally and communicate effectively with customers

• Good organizational and analytical skills and ability to pay attention to details

• Regular and predictable attendance

• Ability to work as part of a team and independently

New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions
