Provide Personnel Security Support Services for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This includes, but is not limited to maintenance of appropriate records, assuring processes are followed, collection of data and documentation, interacting with employees, contractors, and affiliates of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), fulfilling the personnel security requirements of the CDC, other office administration tasks, and keeping accurate performance metrics to ensure accountability. Partake in the development/implementation a system(s) designed to ensure the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of the work performed on this contract.

Required Skills

  • Pursuant to a government contract, this position requires a U.S. citizenship status.

  • Meet minimum FIPS 201 requirements to receive an HSPD-12 PIV credential

  • Have a completed Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI) on file with a favorable suitability determination

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree or five (5) years directly related experience, combined with training courses relevant to duties and functions in performing administrative support functions

  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in administrative, general office, or personnel suitability/security or a comparable discipline

  • A working knowledge of personnel suitability/security theories, techniques, and practices

  • Knowledge of applicable Executive Orders (E.O.s), Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), Security Policy Board regulations, and other regulations relating to the Personnel Suitability/Security Program

  • Knowledge of how to apply CFR adjudicative guidelines to make suitability/security determinations

  • Excellent skills in writing, customer service, time management, and communication skills

  • Previous experience with OPM's Electronic Questionnaires for Investigation Processing (e-QIP) system is required

  • Ability to develop, analyze, and maintain administrative operating processes and procedures

  • Familiar with quality requirements of fingerprinting and be able to operate electronic fingerprint systems (CDC will provide on the job training of specific systems)

  • Be able to operate fingerprint machines and review the Form 306

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, excel, and word

  • Ability to create, prepare, and edit correspondence, reports, and spreadsheets

  • Ability to execute all office records management tasks

  • Possess ability to understand and follow privacy and protection issues related to Personally Identifiable Information

  • Possess ability to assist with all administrative support actions related to the processing of NACIs, Public Trust, and National Security Clearance Investigations

  • Be able to update the Smartcard Identity Management System (IDMS) with updates on background investigation statuses

  • Be able to track and log all adjudication actions received from the Office of Personnel Management and DHHS

  • Ability to track the status of all completed adjudication actions and ensure that required processing standards are met

  • Knowledge of and ability to access the e-QIP system to initiate new applications and obtain updates of active investigations

  • Possess the skills to thoroughly review security documents for completeness, accuracy, and for conformance to security procedures

  • Knowledge of and ability to determine the type of investigation required for the degree of clearance requested

  • Ability to quickly and accurately respond to requests for information concerning clearance actions

  • Ability to coordinate administrative tasks related to investigations with multiple persons in multiple offices


  • Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills in order to interface with senior level company official and all levels of government agencies

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

  • Knowledge of office policies, practices and procedures

  • Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications (MS Word, PowerPoint). In-depth Excel experience is a must;

  • Experience working with databases;

  • Experience in accounting and payroll

  • Ability to work independently.
