Personnel Analyst 2 - Underfill

The Position

Personnel Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive personnel functions for a state department, division or agency. Work may involve employee relations, recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, employee development, benefit administration, staffing and payroll.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. The Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation invites dynamic and motivated individuals to apply for the role of Personnel Analyst 2 - underfill for Personnel Officer 1, within our innovative and fast-paced human resources team. DETR HR provides comprehensive HR services to five separate agencies and over 900 employees.

The successful applicant will play a crucial role in leading and supervising the HR team on a daily basis. Responsibilities encompass managing daily operations, which includes assigning personnel action processing tasks; overseeing the recruitment and hiring processes for the agencies we support; offering guidance to staff on state regulations, policies, and HR best practices; and stepping in to support the Personnel Officer 3 when needed.

Moreover, the incumbent will engage in consultations with directors, administrators, managers, supervisors, and legal counsel on a range of employee relations issues, such as performance evaluations, attendance, leave policies, and grievances. This role involves conducting and managing internal investigations into employee actions, preparing statistical reports, formulating policies, and assisting agencies with employee compensation requests.
