Vice President -Personal Trust Advisory Administration and Estate Settlement Manager
The PTAA and Estate Settlement Manager is responsible for managing the Estate Settlement Officers who are responsible for managing a book of estates that they are settling per document guidelines, who are responsible for generating new sales, who are responsible for referring business to other areas of the bank and who are responsible for keeping their estate settlement knowledge current through attending educational seminars and attending estate planning events. The Estate Officers are expected to meet service level standards established for the estate process. The Estate Officers are expected to maintain a network of professionals with whom they interact. This manager is also responsible for Personal Trust and Advisory Administration, which is the centralized team for ongoing administration. This team is responsible for reviewing documents for new business ensuring Comerica is able to fulfill its responsibilities in the capacity for which it is being named and if the new business meets expectations of business for Comerica. This team reviews many types of fiduciary requests to include declination requests, resignation requests, discretionary action requests, coding change requests, cash movement requests. Their role is to review and approve/decline requests. They provide documentation that is needed for clients/attorneys/colleagues to sign as part of the process. This team processes requests for coding changes and cash movement when approved to move forward. This team is charged with providing consistent decisions and managing risk while meeting service level turnaround times.

The PTAA team is responsible for ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures when making decisions and processing work.
The Estate Settlement officers are responsible for following the guidelines established in the governing document, ensuring tax payments are properly made, notices to creditors are posted, payments to credits and all activities associated with settling an estate are completed. Failure to do so can create penalties or legal action against Comerica.
Metrics and Partnerships
Establish metrics and communicate to interest parties in Personal Wealth Management (Regional Managers, National Sales Manager, TEAs, WAs) and interested parties in the Alliance organization (Managing Director, National Sales Manager, TS's, TEAs).
Collaborate with partners ensuring service levels meet expectations.
Establish communication standards for the estate officers and ensure adherence.
Complete touch points with internal clients to ensure satisfaction with services provided by PTAA and Estate Settlement.
Collaborate with the Manager of Estate Settlement Support ensuring client satisfaction and team collaboration between officers and analysts.
Client service standards are met or exceeded.
Team Member Responsibilities
Active participation in the Personal Trust Leadership team activities such as projects, initiatives, workshops, training sessions and meetings.
Responsible for the financial success of personal trust overall.
Provides ideas, suggestions for activities across personal trust team that would ensure a best in class offering, improve colleague engagement and commitment, and elevate expectations for colleagues.
