Position Summary
The Personal Trainer provides members with customized fitness programs while educating them on proper nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, resistance training and attaining a healthier lifestyle.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Building and maintain client base, instruct small group training or one-on-one training.
Educate members of current health and fitness issues and trends.
Execute individual fitness program design, demonstrate and teach exercises while providing feedback on technique.
Greet and make members/guests feel welcomed as they enter and exit the facility.
Treat all members and guests with respect.
Ensure safety of guests/members and take preventative actions to decrease risk.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
One year experience as a Personal Trainer.
Customer service experience.
Strong passion for fitness/exercise.
Strong work ethic.
Demonstrate enthusiastic, outgoing, positive attitude.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organizational and time management skills.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the health/fitness field or 18 years of age and high school diploma or equivalent high school certification and national accredited primary certification.
Current CPR/AED certification through the American Red Cross.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Nationally recognized Personal Trainer Certification, CPR, AED and First Aid certifications.

Salary Range
$24.97 - $38.71 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
