About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.
Position Purpose: The Upper Main Line YMCA is looking for a Personal Trainer to develop and conduct personal training sessions and help transform our members' fitness levels.
Responsibilities:
Conduct personal training sessions and fitness assessments as scheduled and provide training in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner.
Develop appropriate assessments and programming for individual client needs.
Follow YMCA of Greater Brandywine guidelines for screening personal training clients.
Report to scheduled sessions on time and be available to provide assistance.
Ensure the proper exercise techniques are utilized by all members.
Report any mechanical or breakdown problems immediately to supervisor and document.
Build relationships with personal training clients and solicit members to participate in personal training programs.
Promote a healthy lifestyle.
Understand, follow and enforce all wellness center policies.
Participate in special events and open houses.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of basic and advanced exercise principles required.
Strong interest in health and fitness.
Course work towards a bachelor's degree in exercise science or health-related field preferred.
Possess a NCCA accredited personal training certification
Lifting (up to 40lbs. independently, more than 50lbs. with assistance), walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or standing (for sustained periods of time).
