Job Summary

This document is intended to outline the responsibilities and duties of the PPE Trainer. The main objectives of this position are to educate staff on the proper sequence for donning and doffing of personal protective equipment used to protect staff from infectious diseases, such as Ebola virus.

Job Responsibilities

Be deemed competent by a member of Environmental Health and Safety Department in the PPE donning and doffing procedures
Ensure PPE training cart is fully stocked with necessary supplies
Arrive to training sessions prepared with training cart, roster and sign-in sheet
Follow donning and doffing checklists for every training encounter
Ensure sign-in sheets are forwarded to Learning Services
Is educated and can speak to the use and limitations of all components of the PPE ensemble in order to answer staff questions or concerns
Provide instruction and guidance in how to properly care for & maintain the PPE: look for signs of wear, cleaning/disinfecting, disposal after use.

Required Education and Experience

Recent training experience (1-3 years) in donning and doffing personal protective equipment for entry into hazardous and/or biological environments.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Certified in PPE Donning/Doffing (to be completed with CHOP Environmental Health and Safety Department)

Excellent verbal communication skills

All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.

As our new Personal Trainer you will: * Provide excellent customer service and help to maintain a positive user experience in the gym * Work 1:1 and in small groups with clients to help them define and meet their fitness and health goals * Write workout plans for clients to be executed both with and without your supervision * Provide fitness education and advice to gym users * Work with the personal training team to continue to expand the team's knowledge and ability to perform * Any and all administrative duties related to planning workouts, reporting hours and scheduling training sessions with clients * Other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Currently certified through one of the nationally accredited industry associations (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, etc.) * Minimum of 1 year personal training experience working with clients Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated ability to perform necessary training movements and exercises * Excellent communication skills * Creative thinker * Proven ability to teach and motivate others * Basic understanding of nutrition and weight loss * Ability to work with many different types of people in a corporate setting Physical Requirements: * Requires long periods of standing or sitting * Moderate use of computer terminal screen, right or left hand use, typing * Grasping and gripping movement * Ability to lift 50 lbs. Some lifting may require additional assistance from another staff person.
