Looking to serve others? Interested in earning extra cash and helping those most in need? Consulate Health Care is hiring those eager to offer a helpful hand to the individuals who live and work with us. No experience necessary.

The Personal Care Assistants (PCA- Non Certified) will partner with Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA's) to provide routine direct nursing care to assigned patients following successful completion of paid preservice 8-hour training course.

Essential Functions Might Include:

  • Answering call lights

  • Assist the Resident with Getting Dressed

  • Assist with Hearing Aids

  • Assist with medically necessary transfer to center van

  • Assist with smoking observation if necessary

  • Assist with housekeeping tasks

  • Assist with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) distribution

  • Check temperatures

  • Make occupied or unoccupied bed

  • Pass ice water & meal trays

  • Provide 1:1 social visits to room-bound residents via Skype | FaceTime | Phone conversation with family members

Education:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Upon completion of the initial paid 8-hour course, the Personal Care Attendant will work under the direct supervision of the nursing staff and in collaboration with the Certified Nursing Assistants providing Activity of Daily Living (ADL) services to residents. During this on-the-job training period, Consulate Health Care will work with the Personal Care Attendant to further improve and expand his|her resident care skills. Personal Care Attendants our encouraged to seek a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Position Summary: Responsible for providing assistance with incidental household tasks and sitting with patients in the individuals home setting. Qualifications: * A high school graduate or equivalency is required. * The Homemaker/Companion must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, the ability to read, write, and carry out directions, and the maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job. * A valid driver's license, current automobile liability insurance and insurability under the company liability insurance are required. Job Relations: Reports to: Administrator or Director of Nursing Main Duties and Responsibilities * Assists the patient/family with incidental household tasks essential to the patient's health needs such as light housekeeping, making and changing beds, dusting and vacuuming patient's room, dish washing, tidying kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, delivering needed supplies, and caregiver respite. * Assists the family in maintaining a healthy and safe environment. * Assists the patient/family unit with plans and preparation of nutritious meals and assists with occasional household chores when necessary. * Accurately records and documents on forms and charts. * Works in conjunction with scheduled shifts, on weekends as required. * Performs all other duties as directed by supervisor. * Required to comply with all Covenant Policies, Procedures and Personnel Policies, including those specifically addressing disaster preparedness and response. Special Demands/Physical Requirements: This position frequently requires medium to heavy lifting. Normally, such lifting will include, but is not limited to, assisting with the transfer/repositioning of the patient either in the home or the nursing facility. This position requires considerable time driving their motor vehicle in connection with performing the essential functions of the position.
