As a Personal Banker, essential responsibilities include:

  • Process and validate a variety of financial transactions, including accepting and dispensing cash, cashing checks and other instruments, and maintaining accurate records of same

  • Communicate with customers and potential customers to gather information for the evaluation of needs and recommending STAR's products and services to fit those needs

  • Accept loan, credit card, and other payments

  • Accurately balance and maintain cash drawer

  • Provide superior customer service

  • Initiate new accounts

  • Evaluate and respond timely to customer issues, through direct personal action or referral to proper source

  • Provide customers with account-based information and assist with other services

  • Maintain and update knowledge relating to bank products, services and procedures

  • Adhere to and apply all operational policies and procedures

  • Complete annual compliance training.

The Baldwin Financial Center is open Monday through Friday from 9am - 5pm, and Saturday 8:30am - 1pm. All MutualBank employees are expected to deliver consistent, high-quality customer service by interacting professionally with all internal & external customers; maintain confidentiality in all bank matters; dress professionally & appropriately, and using our core values, conduct themselves in a highly ethical manner. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Serve as a leader in formulating methods to sell products and services including but not limited to financial center incentives, target market involvement and product knowledge training for financial center staff. 2. Actively counsel customers to determine needs, explain bank services and advise accordingly. Identify future needs with follow-up strategies to build ongoing relationships. 3. Possess complete knowledge of all MutualBank and competitor's products and services with ability to promote the benefits of our products and services. 4. Complete all training provided to become certified for the position. 5. Maintain knowledge of lending process, application through completion of loan documentation. 6. Assist in the opening & closing procedures; and participate in the Saturday rotation. 7. Serve as back up to financial center management staff and regularly assist the financial center staff to ensure strong teamwork in all operations. 8. Maintain a broad knowledge and thorough understanding of all Federal Regulations and bank policies/procedures and the regulatory framework in which the bank operates as well as current banking and lending trends related to the position/department. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS Inside office working conditions including sedentary (seated desk) & computer work. Float positions will require travel to nearby financial centers as directed. Relationship Bankers in financial centers may perform teller functions, as needed, assist in the opening & closing procedures; and participate in the Saturday rotation. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent is required as is the ability to understand the corporate objective of relationship banking. LBE licensing may be required depending on location. The incumbent is expected to obtain within six to nine months of hire. The abilities to listen, to interpret customer needs and to creatively sell bank products are necessary. An enthusiastic commitment to maintaining and building customer relationships coupled with the ability to lead by example is essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
