Frequently consults with portfolio clients via needs based, financial planning conversations. Solves clients problems and achieves their goal by applying knowledge of bank products. Leverages financial acumen to refer prospects to Private Banking, Business Banking, Wealth Management, and Mortgage Department/Teams. Responsible for retention and growth of assigned Personal Banker portfolio.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or related experience required.

  • Must be able to efficiently conduct consultative financial conversations with clients, create opportunities to assist, and fulfill with bank products and services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years' experience in Financial Services or Retail/Business Banking preferred.

  • Prior branch operations knowledge or experience preferred.

  • FHB NMLS Certification within 6-12 months from hire or equivalent work experience preferred.

  • Proactively engages with clients and pursues business development leads and opportunities.

  • General knowledge of financial products and services offered in other areas of the bank.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, sales, and consultative skills, and be solution oriented.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to build a relationship with clients.

  • Ability to make lending decisions using prudent judgment within FHB policy and procedures.

  • Must be able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously within strict deadlines without compromising quality.

  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance.

  • Understand consumer life cycle and business operating cycles.

  • Understand financial statements and basic fundamentals on cash flow and debt repayment.

  • General understanding of underwriting and credit process.

Registration Requirement

Must be qualified to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS).

VIEW JOBS 7/14/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-10-12T00:00 Under the direction of the Manager, this position supports Account Officer(s) in the relationship building and administration of accounts where the bank is acting as trustee, personal representative, conservator, guardian or agent. Oversees daily operational activities of accounts as well as provide the highest level of customer service to clients, attorneys, CPA's, beneficiaries and other wealth advisors related to these accounts. Assists in business unit's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. * Acts as liaison between clients, officers and other Trust Services Group(TSG) support units by researching/responding to information requests (e.g. using knowledge and understanding of documents and legal requirements to handle discretionary distributions, tax planning, trust funding, trust termination, etc.) * Accomplishes day-to-day account administration activities, including, but not limited to daily reports, account set-ups, deposits and withdrawals of cash and assets, and requesting investment trades. Prepares memos, reports, budgets, and internal and external correspondence, as appropriate. * Partners with and assists officer in recognizing issues and errors, researching and resolving issues, and follows through to ensure client satisfaction and to prevent recurrence. * Annually reviews all assigned accounts for compliance with document requirements and with company and department policies and procedures. Actively ensures compliance with all TSG Policies and Procedures, the Bank of Hawaii Code of Business Conduct & Ethics and all applicable laws and regulations, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements. * Maintains knowledge and understanding of bank policies and procedures, federal laws and regulations, etc., by attending and participating in Personal Trust monthly meetings and through the use of TPROC, TPOL, RegU and Blueflash. Participates in required corporate and business line training in these areas. * Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned. This position requires use of a personal computer and other standard office equipment (typewriter, fax, copier, calculator and telephone). MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience. * Experience: Requires the ability to read and understand various trust and related documents, ancillary reports, etc. Level I: Minimum 1 - 2 years related work experience for a trust company, law firm, etc. or equivalent work experience. Level II: Minimum of 3 - 4 years related work experience for a trust company, law firm, etc. or equivalent work experience. Level III: Minimum of 5 years related work experience for a trust company, law firm, etc. or equivalent work experience. * Technical Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use banking-related software such as PC Mobius, Metavante, Advantage and BLUE360. * Other Job Qualifications: Uses initiative to work in a demanding environment that requires a self-starter. Able to adapt quickly and willingly embrace change. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work independently. Must have well developed analytical and problem solving skills. May on occasion be asked to participate in corporate events on holidays, weekends and evenings.
