Supervisor/Manager: Director of Construction, Special Projects

Maverik's Permitting Project Manager - Construction, Special Projects oversees the permitting activities for assigned Maverik special construction projects, including but not limited to, new sites, rebuilds and all types of remodels and relocation projects. The Permitting Project Manager Construction, Special Projects is the single point of contact for all Authorities Having Jurisdiction throughout the entire permitting process. This position works closely with Special Projects Construction Managers, assigning action items & following up on all activities relating to permitting to streamline the permitting process.

What You'll do as a Permitting Project Manager:

  • Review plans and supporting documents prior to submission for completeness and compliance with Maverik standards

  • Interface with local municipalities and state agencies to submit and track construction drawings and permit application packages

  • Obtain necessary construction/building permits for start of construction per schedule in a timely manner

  • Coordinate and assign responsibilities to Entitlement Manager, Architect and Engineer, or Construction Project Manager pertaining to received redlines from jurisdictions to ensure all items are addressed; resubmit corrected/additional documents as required

  • Travel to job sites as needed; will require overnight travel several nights each week, approximately 50% of the time

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

You'll be a Great Fit if You Have:

  • 3 + yrs.' experience working with local jurisdictions in obtaining commercial Construction permits preferred

  • Display strong initiative and organizational ability, including ability to prioritize

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Customer Service Champion

  • Proficient in MS Office, including strong Excel skills

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others and work with contractors and sub-contractors

  • Ability to assist in establishing effective processes

  • A satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record is required for this role

To perform specialized senior level paraprofessional clerical and administrative support. Tasks require seasoned independent analysis and judgment coupled with extensive clerical or secretarial experience. Incumbents make important daily decisions independently regarding: (1) operation or production and (2) collection, evaluation, and dissemination of information. Responsibilities Duties might be of similar complexity and difficulty to the following functions: 50% Conducting special projects and research related to the area of assignment, compiling complex information, and preparing special reports. Projects tend to be irregular in nature or complex. At this level, incumbents typically format and develop the content for review by senior management. 30% Coordinating staff analysis and case presentation for professionals. Facilitating and coordinating special activities requiring input from multiple sources and typically with interdepartmental interaction. 15% Collecting, evaluating, disseminating, coordinating and maintaining complex information and data from multiple sources. 5% May be required to train and motivate other employees and Church-Service Missionaries. Qualifications 2 year post-high school education or training and 7+ years of experience as a clerk or secretary, a BS degree in a research-related field of study, or the equivalent combination of experience and training. Advanced personal computer skills and demonstrated advanced proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Proficiency in office and clerical functions. Seasoned skills of independent analysis and judgment. Thorough and detailed knowledge of departmental procedures and functions related to the required duties. Specialized training in area directly related to the position's major functions is preferred.
