This Permit Technician position earns competitive pay of $17.86/hr. As a Permit Technician, you spend your day assisting the public with questions regarding commercial, residential and industrial construction codes and requirements. You review, manage, coordinate, facilitate, and accept permit applications.
Your job is essential to the city, and you maintain permit logs, and record management programs. Other duties include responding to questions regarding permit readiness, project fees and other issues. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PERMIT TECHNICIAN
Community college, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence school certificates are likely sources.
Preferred: Associates Degree in related field with ICC Permit Technician Certification
Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements
Two (2) years' experience in administrative field including cash handling experience.
Preferred: Two (2) years' experience in closely related field including cash handling experience.
Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record
ICC Permit Technician Certification preferred or ability obtain an ICC certification within two (2) years of employment.
Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
