As health care continues to evolve, the clinical expertise of nurses is more important that ever. Perioperative registered nurses are relied upon for their professional judgment and critical thinking skills.
They may work closely with the surgical patient, family members, and other health care professionals. They help plan, implement, and evaluate treatment of the patient. Perioperative registered nurses provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before and after surgery. These activities include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment, pre- and post-operative patient education, monitoring the patient's physical and emotional well-being, and integrating and coordinating patient care throughout the surgical care continuum.
Worcester Surgery Center is as multi-specialty practice that is committed to the best clinical outcomes for our patients. As such, we are seeking a nurse educator in a PT capacity to join our team. As a nurse educator, you have the ability to impact the future of nursing, share your clinical expertise, and even continue working as a patient care provider.
Nurse educators are registered nurses (RNs) who have obtained advanced nursing degrees and/or clinical experience that allow them to teach nursing curriculum to colleagues within the practice. They serve as clinical experts; transferring their valuable knowledge, experience, and skill sets to their nurse colleagues.
The best nurse educators will exhibit exceptional leadership qualities, have excellent communication abilities, and have in-depth, comprehensive knowledge in their given field. Nurse educators are responsible for designing, evaluating, updating, and implementing new and current nursing education curriculum. These educational professionals act as both advisers and role models for other staff.
