Job Summary:

Responsible for all duties and functions relating to ordering, inventory, stocking, and tracking of supplies, equipment, prosthesis (implants), tissue and biologics. Ordering of surgical buyouts and specialty items requested by surgeons; in addition to a variety of clerical tasks relating to the purchasing functions. Submits new product request (NPR's); working collaboratively with management, clinical staff and physicians. Supports all clinical procedure areas such as perioperative services, outpatient surgery, Cath Lab and Special Procedures, GI Lab.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Current BLS provider card

Education:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • Prior Supply Chain experience in an operating room environment required

  • Two years experience in inventory, data management or supply chain in a healthcare environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of surgical supplies and charge master

  • PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office-Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Knowledge and skills in use of inventory management information systems (examples: Meditech, Lawson, PeopleSoft, Oracle)

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Organizational skills

  • Customer service skills

Physical Demands - Clerical/Administrative Non-Patient Care:

  • Frequent sitting and standing/walking with frequent position change.

  • Continuous use of bilateral upper extremities in fine motor activities requiring fingering, grasping, and forward reaching between waist and chest level.

  • Occasional/intermittent reaching at or above shoulder level.

  • Occasional/intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting, and climbing.

  • Occasional/intermittent lifting and carrying objects/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Continuous use of near vision, hearing and verbal communication skills in handling telephone calls, interacting with customers and co-workers and performing job duties.
