Perfusionist

Job Summary

We are seeking a Perfusionist for Tanner Health System's Cardiothoracic Surgery program. The provider will be part of a 3 person team and report to the Director of Perfusion Services. The Perfusion department reports to the Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery. To date, the program is 18 months old and we are actively recruiting a second surgeon.

The Perfusionist will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide services for patients with Cardiothoracic surgical issues, under the supervision of the attending providers. The Perfusionist will set-up and operate devices such as the heart-lung machine for cardiopulmonary bypass procedure, ventricular assist, autologous autotransfusion. He/she will also provide IABP and surgical back-up for procedures performed in the heart catheterization lab and will provide clinical support to the Surgery Center 24 hours a day and maintain technical skills in accordance with proper procedures/protocols for the use of ancillary equipment within the perfusion area.

Position Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of principles and techniques of Perfusion Technology. ECMO only initiation no sitting.

• Take call; must live within 30 minutes from the hospital.

Job Eligibility Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited training program and Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Certification.

Certification/License

• Currently hold or be able to obtain a Georgia Perfusion License

Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of perfusion experience required.
