Performance Management Analyst

Description

The Performance Management Analyst, under the guidance of the Assistant City Manager, assists with preparation and coordination of data reporting on a variety of City programs related to strategic mayoral, council, and management initiatives. This position will develop a transparent data governance structure for the City of Lee's Summit.

Work of the Performance Management Analyst will include conducting research; analyzing complex data sets and systems across city departments; identifying trends, and preparing reports and recommendations. They will also be responsible for drafting policies and procedures, assisting with budgeting processes, tracking and evaluating operational and program performance, and identifying and resolving any issues.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting, computer/information sciences, finance, business, organizational development or public administration required; Master's preferred.

A minimum of three years' experience in organizational management, performance management, data analysis, strategic planning, program development or evaluation, public or business administration, or other closely related field.

Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator's license and acceptable driving record required

• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Extensive knowledge in the development and utilization of Microsoft Office suite and proficiency in Excel and database management software required

Knowledge of software and methodologies used in the business analysis field in order to streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value.

Knowledge of project management techniques and approaches related to requirements definition and quality assurance

Skill in providing business intelligence (BI) service offerings including content creation, visualization, real-time dashboards and value propositions to support and improve citywide business processes.

Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing complex and/or technical data

Skill in performing analytical research for City operations, functions and programs and managing special projects as assigned.

Ability to collaborate with departmental analysts to develop a citywide data strategy plan and maintain that framework based upon citywide priorities.

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and with suppliers or the public as needed.
