We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assurance/Standards Specialist to function as a Performance Improvement Coordinator at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) in the Quality Management Department.

This position is a dual role to serve primarily as a Performance Improvement Coordinator and secondarily as the Data Analyst for the department to help coordinate, structure and staff the hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program. This position will assist with all survey preparation activities, assist the QM Director during actual surveys and assist with the monitoring requirements for any plans of correction. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Help to coordinate, monitor and collect the necessary information through audits and tracers to complete the annual Focused Standards Assessment required by the Joint Commission.

  • Evaluate ongoing compliance with Joint Commission Hospital standards, CMS regulations and develop programs to ensure staff are educated about regulations and accrediting body standards and survey activities.

  • Responsible for various performance improvement indicator reports and associated audits, analyzing data and reporting trends to the assigned performance improvement committees, sub-groups and unit management teams and for assisting with special projects.

  • Work closely with other QM staff to assist in the implementation of the Pl Program as well as providing technical assistance to units/departments and committees in relation to performance improvement tools and resources.

  • Work closely with QM staff and hospital leaders to gather, edit, analyze and report data/information in relation to special projects, performance improvement initiatives and regulatory activities.

  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of database applications, systematic analysis of data integrity and preparation of reports.

The normal work hours for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday however flexibility is required to meet hospital needs. This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.

  • Knowledge of inpatient hospital systems, preferably CRH units and departments.

  • Knowledge of performance improvement.

  • Ability to develop recommendations and provide consultation to solve problems in different program areas.

  • Ability to exercise judgment in interpreting and applying standards, policies and procedures.

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form with various staff.

  • Ability to assess problems and coordinate resolutions.

  • Knowledge of computer-assisted statistical programs and working knowledge of statistical analysis of data.

  • Knowledge of capabilities of data processing systems in gathering, storing, retrieving, and analyzing data.

  • Ability to assess the validity of information obtained from data gathering instruments.

  • Ability to analyze data and to draw conclusions from the analysis pertaining to the purpose of the project.

  • Ability to present information effectively, orally, and in writing.

Management Preferences:

  • Experience in a psychiatric setting and performance improvement.

  • Working knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, CMS and other regulatory standards/regulations and any additional resources needed to complete the essential functions associated with the position.

  • Experience using various database systems and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Master's degree in psychology, social work, education, health, business administration or related human service field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in professional level treatment programming for the applicable client population;

or

Bachelor's degree in one of the fields listed above from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience as indicated above;

or

an equivalent combination of education and experience.
