The Role and Responsibilities:

The Performance & Growth Analyst - TRC will be responsible for working with Marketing, Programming, Data Science, and Product leadership to execute ROI-driven solutions for content promotion across multiple channels. The Performance Analyst Programming will report to the Director of Performance & Optimization and will be located in Los Angeles.

  • Work closely with Roku's content marketing and engagement teams to optimize marketing initiatives for The Roku Channel across all touchpoints, including but not limited to: display, video, email, ICS, Featured Free. Provide insight into how these channels interact to produce results.

  • Provide forecasting to support potential media plans and evaluate how close the execution came to those forecasts and plans.

  • Provide optimization recommendations during live campaigns. Ensure we are continuously improving eCPMs and finding efficiencies.

  • Provide in-depth reporting and insights during live campaigns, and in wrap-up reports and internal QBRs.

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise by contributing proactively to marketing strategies and circulating best practices.

  • Partner with DSA to design A/B testing to see beyond the metrics and understand how our users engage with promoted content.

  • Support the execution of promotional campaigns from apps pushing to The Roku Channel.

  • Contribute to the marketing capabilities roadmap by working with the Product and Data Science teams to build tools and reporting that give the Programming team greater insight into the successes and shortcomings of promotional efforts.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in marketing analytics

  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of SQL

  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Looker

  • Familiarity with pulling reporting from DFP and Salesforce

  • Familiarity with digital advertising, performance marketing, and attribution terminology and metrics

  • College degree

The Roku Channel offers a selection of approximately 10,000 ad-supported movies and TV shows on-demand as well as over 20 linear ad-supported channels, including ABC News, Stadium Sports and others. The Roku Channel partners with existing Roku platform partners as well as directly with content owners to make a broad selection of content available in The Roku Channel. The Roku Channel is available on Roku, web, mobile and Samsung connected TVs. Director, The Roku Channel Ad-Supported VOD The Director, The Roku Channel (TRC) Ad-Supported VOD (AVOD) is responsible for the overall success of the AVOD category on The Roku Channel as well as the success of AVOD partners on the Roku Platform more broadly. Success is measured by delivering on and exceeding expectations with respect to user engagement, as defined by reach and streaming hours, financial results (revenue, gross profit) and other key health and growth metrics. * Director, TRC AVOD will be responsible for the AVOD category on Roku. This leader is responsible for performance of AVOD within TRC as well as the performance of AVOD partners across the platform overall. * Within TRC, the Director is responsible for developing a data-driven strategy to grow AVOD reach, streaming hours and monetization, including * Assessing which content verticals and providers would best contribute to the channel's goals, including content from studios, TV networks, aggregators, digital content creators and others * Developing the appropriate business terms to secure that content and overseeing negotiations of the necessary agreements * Providing oversight and prioritization of operational workflows to make the content available on TRC consistent with the plan * Developing marketing and editorial strategies that maximize audience engagement * Ensuring delivery of valuable advertising inventory and sponsorship opportunities that are aligned with Roku's ad sales strategy * Development of analysis and reporting of relevant business KPIs and the use of those KPIs to further inform and refine the plan * Providing well-grounded and achievable operational and financial forecasts * Delivering results that meet and exceed the strategic plan on engagement and financial metrics. * For AVOD partners, the Director will be responsible for creating and delivering on performance driven strategic plans with respect to key accounts, including * Understanding the partners' overall goals and opportunities for value creation on the platform. * Roku's opportunity to create value through its partnership, including audience development, inventory and revenue shares, inventory acquisition, viewership and monetization in The Roku Channel and any other areas of potential value creation for the partner * Creating incentives for the partner to participate in TRC and other high priority Roku initiatives * Driving automation, enhanced reporting and tools to improve the efficiency of supporting key partners as well as creating self-service opportunities * Delivering results that meet and exceeds the strategic plan for key partners and the financial goals for Roku with respect to those partners * In order to achieve success in these roles, the Director will * Develop and communicate their strategy and vision both internally and externally * Work collaboratively with key internal partners, including content acquisition, editorial, operations, marketing, product, data science and others * Be expert in the use of data to make decisions, measure outcomes and track results * Build and lead a team to support their objectives * The role will report to the VP, Programming and Engagement Experiences / Qualifications: * 15+ years of experience delivering results in fast paced environments, including significant P&L ownership and demonstrated success in driving meaningful growth in content driven businesses * Strong understanding of the advertising business model in digital, television and/or OTT * Proven success leading business development or partner management * Background in a broad set of functional areas, including product, operations, marketing and editorial * Demonstrated experience in using data to establish and execute strategy from the ground up, including with complex, multi-faceted and highly interdependent projects * Able to work cross-functionally and collaboratively across multiple corporate locations, particularly in an engineering driven organization * Able to build, lead and develop a high functioning team * Able to travel weekly to the Bay Area * BA / BS degree. MBA preferred.
