VIEW JOBS 12/7/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-03-06T00:00 Who You'll Work With: At Cisco Umbrella (nee OpenDNS) we are starting the journey to run a fully FedRamp approved service for our US Federal customers and other customers with similar data sovereignty requirements. You will be one of the engineers helping shape this new offering, combining the world class services we have today, with expertise in security and policy to provide best-in-class DNS based services to customers in our FedRamp environment. What You'll Do: One of the few, inflexible requirements for this job: you must be a US Citizen living on US soil. Otherwise, we are looking for engineers with experience running large, distributed systems both on bare metal and on cloud services (bonus points for Amazon Web Services.) Our systems process 250+ BILLION transactions per day, and you will be one of the first engineers bringing this service to our customers in a FedRamp approved environment. You will work with our current development, system engineering, and performance teams to understand the current architecture and moving pieces. You will utilize that learning and understanding to deploy our services into a new environment. You will contribute back learnings from the FedRamp environment to our development teams to improve the product for all of our customers while maintaining the necessary standards that set FedRamp apart from other commercial offerings. Who You Are: One of the few, inflexible requirements for this job: you must be a US Citizen living on US soil. Otherwise, to join the team, you are going to want a background in Linux/BSD systems and operation. While it would be great if you already know something about the DNS, as long as you have a basic understanding and willingness to learn, we are always happy to teach new team members the ropes. We also want to know that you've been responsible for time sensitive, mission critical systems with a high attention to detail. Our services are the heart of the Cisco Umbrella product and we take ownership of that very seriously -- our internal and external SLOs are high. You have demonstrated all the necessary skills to build and run these systems over the course of your career -- this isn't your first rodeo. Why Cisco We connect everything: people, processes, data, and things. We innovate everywhere, taking bold risks to shape the technologies that give us smart cities, connected cars, and handheld hospitals. And we do it in style with unique personalities who aren't afraid to change the way the world works, lives, plays, and learns. Why Cisco Cloud Security Cisco Cloud Security enables you to securely adopt the cloud and better manage security for the way the world works today. It protects users against threats anywhere they access the internet and secures your data and applications in the cloud. You can also leverage the cloud to enhance security through simplified policy management and dynamic threat intelligence. With Cisco Cloud Security, you gain complete visibility into internet activity across cloud applications, all office locations, and roaming devices, plus faster threat detection and response. Cisco Cloud Security provides an effective security platform that is open, automated, and simple to use. And it's backed by industry-leading threat information delivered by the Cisco Talos security intelligence and research group. We Are Cisco! Please note this posting is to advertise potential job opportunities. This exact role may not be open today, but could open in the near future. When you apply, a Cisco representative may contact you directly if a relevant position opens. * LI-JE1 dicedev #GD2015 Cisco Systems, Inc. Waltham MA
