Specific job duties include:

  • Coordinate with the Performance Assurance Team and stakeholders across the laboratory to identify process improvement opportunities to improve quality, cost, and more efficient delivery of business operations across diverse laboratory business functions.

  • Contributes to the planning, designing, and implementation of process and system improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, change management, and other methodologies as appropriate.

  • Conduct or assist with data mining across multiple data sources to identify process pain points and inefficiencies and use the data to construct a reasonable solution for improvements.

  • Support activities that increase the overall proficiency of the laboratory in realizing continuous improvement, including mentoring and training personnel in process improvement methodologies.

The successful candidate will relish hunting down the data necessary to inform business process improvements and designing new measures and metrics as needed to provide insightful information about process effectiveness for our program managers. We need someone who can persist in making incremental, iterative improvements as well as create large changes. Strong collaboration focus is necessary along with great communication skills, as this individual will work across all organizations, all functions, and all levels and will be writing reports and presentations in collaboration with other team members.
