Our Cashiers/Prep Cooks receive and disburse money for payment of food purchased along with preparing delicious pantry items, grab-and-go items and salad bar items, as needed.
DAY TO DAY:
Greets employees/customers in a friendly and welcome manner.
Enters purchases into cash register to calculate total purchase price.
Accepts cash, checks, or bankcards for payment; completes check and bankcard transactions according to established procedure.
Counts money, gives change and issues receipt for funds received.
Maintains sufficient amounts of change in cash drawer.
Balances cash drawer and receipts; documents discrepancies.
Keeps register area neat and stocked with necessary supplies.
Keeps retail area clean, orderly and presentable.
Assists in training new cashiers, as directed.
Assists in the kitchen and cafeteria with items such as clean-up, stocking, as needed.
Performs other related tasks, as required.
Education equivalent to a High School diploma and 3 months of related experience.
Current Food Handler's Permit.
The ability to read, write and speak English, and perform basic arithmetic.
Ability to operate the cash register and credit card equipment.
Ability to be self-motivated and do what needs to be done.
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Ability to communicate and interact positively with the public
Reading, writing and communication skills (in English)
