Overview:

Surgical Affiliates Management Group, Inc. (SAMGI) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Trauma Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our esteemed team on a per-diem basis at The Hospitals of Providence

• East Campus in El Paso, Texas. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, high-acuity environment, providing exceptional trauma care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive trauma care to patients, including initial assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

• Assist in surgical procedures and manage post-operative care.

• Collaborate with attending surgeons, hospital staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Perform rounds, document patient progress, and update treatment plans as necessary.

• Respond to trauma alerts and participate in the trauma call schedule.

• Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures, post-operative care, and recovery processes.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in trauma surgery.

Requirements

Current and unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Texas.

Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C).

Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in trauma surgery or a related surgical specialty.

Strong clinical skills, with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
