Per Diem Stf/Senior Sp Path (Bronx, NY, Us)

We are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team of Speech-Language Pathologists at Montefiore Medical Center as a Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist . To qualify, the candidate must have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Certification by the American Speech and Hearing Association (CCC-SLP), and a current New York State license in Speech Language Pathology and at minimum one year of related experience. The candidate must hold the following skills:

• Independent in evaluation and treatment of adult and pediatric patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing disorders on an inpatient and outpatient basis

• Experience with the highest acuity conditions while caring for the swallowing and communication needs of medically complex and critically ill patients in the intensive care units as well as on acute care floors.

• Strong documentation and communication skills to convey recommendations and provide education and in-services to the interdisciplinary team.

• Proficient in conducting Modified Barium Swallow studies in coordination with Radiology as well as trained in performing, interpreting and applying results from Fiberoptic Evaluation of Swallow Studies (FEES)

• Knowledgeable about head and neck cancer, alaryngeal speech, cranio-facial abnormalities, tracheostomized patients and use of Passy Muir Speaking Valves.

• Fluency in another language is ideal.

• Flexible schedule inclusive of weekends and holiday coverage
