Per Diem - Staff Nurse

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities -- HIGHLY PREFERRED

• One (1) year acute experience - PREFERRED

• One (1) year experience in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

• New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• Certification in Conscious Sedation

• Proficiency in cardiology nursing procedures and skills, including cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation.

• Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, hemodynamic, and rhythm interpretation.

• Documents on the individualized care plans including discharge planning goals in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and patient.

• Computer application skills -- ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, Microsoft Excel

• Excellent written and communication skills

The Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families. Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care. Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care. Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel. Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center's standard of care, and the institution's mission and goals.

Assists in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures. Monitor and examine patients prior to procedures, as well as during and after procedure care. Administer medications including conscious sedation and assists the medical team as needed during the procedure. Responsible on all patient's documentations and procedure notes, ensuring all documentation are completed correctly and in timely manner.
