As a Magnet Recognized Hospital, we have a community of nearly 3,000 professional nurses who provide our patients with excellent oncology nursing care.

The Ambulatory Treatment Center, with 156 beds and 6 clinical sites, delivers infusion therapy needs for all of MD Anderson's specialty Centers. The ATC provides treatments for the adult patient population, 18 years of age and beyond.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of nursing experience, preferably infusion and/or med-surg experience.

Essential Job Functions-

Provides for the management and provision of patient care. Collaborates with physicians, patient and patient's family to provide care and evaluate outcomes.

Communicates with assigned multidisciplinary team and assure continuity of care. Assesses patient's needs for nursing care and demonstrates clinical competency and compassion in providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies. Documents care according to established standards.

Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from computer systems. Provides continuum of care through appropriate discharge planning, patient education and coordination of services.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing (RN).

Preferred: Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing.

Experience

Required: One year of relevant clinical nursing experience.

Preferred: Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing.

Licensure

Required: Current State of Texas professional nursing license (RN).

Preferred: Certification in Oncology or specialty practice area.
