Overview

Looking for a position that supports children and families while allowing a flexible schedule? Look no further than Seneca.

Seneca's STEP program is hiring a Per Diem Mental Health Counselor that will provide in-person crisis support for youth and intervene as necessary to assist the youth in developing skills for growth and maintaining stabilization. As a Counselor, you will support group therapy sessions and individual youth needs in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team while providing a safe and nurturing environment for youth.

ABOUT STEP

The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress) program is a partnership between Kaiser Permanente and Seneca, providing Partial Hospitalization services to youth ages 12-17. Youth in the STEP program receive services provided by a Psychiatrist, Registered Nurse, Master's level Clinicians, and a Bachelors level Counselor. The goal of the STEP program is to provide intensive, short-term and stabilization services to enable our clients to step down to lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment. All groups are designed to teach youth the skills necessary to help them learn about their mental health, provide psychoeducation, and help them learn skills to feel better and be safe. Opportunities are available in our Union City, Concord, Fairfield and Petaluma locations.
