Positions Location: Lansing, MI
Job Description
General Purpose:
Responsiblefor providing assessment, evaluation, and treatment of acute care, adult medical-surgical patients under the guidance of the Critical Care physicians.
Essential Duties:
Facilitates appropriate admissions to appropriate health system units by initiating orders, coordinating with appropriate attending physician, and moderating medication reconciliation process.
Performs and dictates History & Physical, medical Consultation, Discharge Summary and SOAP notes as per Critical Care service standards.
Assists with development of plan of care.
Reviews diagnostic X-Rays, monitors lab values and other diagnostic studies.
Performs daily rounds as assigned by Critical Care physicians.
Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, residents and other members of the medical team to maintain current and accurate updates in patient status.
Willingness to learn to perform procedures including intubations and the placement of central lines, chest tubes, and Quinton catheters.
Job Requirements
General Requirements
Current Michigan PA/NP license • BLS/ACLS Work Experience
Minimum of one year experience in acute hospital setting Education Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program. Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective plan of care. • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital caregivers. • Computer skills appropriate for navigating current word processing, database, and networking programs.
