A Home Health Aide is an unlicensed person who is prepared to function in a supportive relationship to professional staff in the provisions of selected personal care services and related housekeeping activities to sick or handicapped persons in their homes. They are trained to assist persons with simple personal care activities under the verbal and written directions and supervision of a registered nurse within the plan of treatment established for the patient.
1.Must be able to read, write, and understand English.2. Must have completed a State of Connecticut approved training program and shall meet all applicable regulations of the State and the Department of Health and Human Services. 3. Flexibility in being able to accept assignment.4. Ability to accept constructively utilize supervision.5. Ability to recognize the needs of people and maintain good relationships in dealing with them.6. Ability to carry out simple personal care services for the patient in their home under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Ability to make meaningful observations and report accurately.7. Cooperative attitude toward providing services for patients at home as part of a team.8. Must possess a valid CNA or HHA certificate.9. Must perform other duties as required by supervisor.10. Valid Driver's License preferred.11. Must perform other duties as required by the Supervisor or his/her designee.
If applicable: - Ability to follow perinatal specific care plan under the supervision of the perinatal nurse and report any significant changes in the patient's condition immediately.- Ability to follow behavioral health specific care plan under the supervision of a behavioral health nurse and report any significant changes in the patient's condition immediately.
A. Normal range of vision is required with or without correction.B.
Normal range of hearing is required with or without correction.C. Must have the ability to lift 70 lbs. or more.D. Must be able to speak clearly.E. Must have the ability to stand and walk around for 4 to 8 hours.
