JOB GOAL: To provide instruction to students and coordinate the development, implementation, and supervision of the Pierce Middle School

Preventive Expulsion Program

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Provide direct instruction to 7th and 8th grade students in core subject areas

2.Create instructional and behavioral plans for all students who enter the program

3.Conduct and arrange program intake meetings with parents and students

4.Implement all corporation policies as they relate to the classroom.

5.Provide leadership and managerial oversight to the instructional program and school operations to

ensure a learning environment that fosters the educational development of each pupil at the

alternative program.

6.Maintain attendance, academic progress and behavior data and report to appropriate administrators.

7.Formulates policies and procedures for new or revised programs or activities such as screening,

placement, A+ education, point system and training of students.

8.Evaluates alternative education programs to ensure that objectives for student education are met.

9.Interprets expectations, rules, and regulations to students, parents, and staff.

10. Prepares reports for federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.

11. Administers achievement tests to measure student level of performance.

12. Supervises alternative education staff as directed by the Principal

13. Aligns program curriculum with day school curriculum.

14. Ensure learning programs are specific to the student's expectations and learning style.

15. Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with

students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.

16. Other responsibilities as assigned by building Principal

17. Candidate must have a successful interview with the building Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Eligible for State of Indiana Teaching License-Preference in English or Math

2.Implement instruction for academically and behaviorally challenged students. Must have excellent

intervention skills and strong classroom management skills.

3.Proven reliability, good organization skills, and ability to work well with students, parents and staff.
