Are you a caring people person who enjoys making connections and is comfortable having hard conversations when needed? Rarebreed Veterinary Partners is looking for an experienced and passionate People Operations Business Partner! In this role, you will help run the daily functions of the People Operations department including administering pay, benefits, leave, training, employee relations and enforcing company policies and practices for our partner hospitals.
This is a remote position and the ideal candidate will live and work out of Boston, Massachusetts.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Conducts new hire onboarding, ensuring a welcoming and positive employee experience
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
Maintain HRIS
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigation process
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications

The salary for this position is $75-$80k/year

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
Minimum of three years of proven experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
PHR, SHRM-CP a plus
Approximately 10% travel
Multi-state Human Resources experience a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Paylocity Payroll/HRIS platform a PLUS
Work Environment Requirement: This is a remote position. Candidates must have a dedicaed workspace that is quiet, free from interruptions, and conducive to focused work. A reliable high-speed internet connection is essential to perform the job effectively.
