The AmeriCorps member will design and carry out an education and outreach campaign that helps older adults and individuals with disabilities to learn about, consider, and pursue services through the Access to Homes/Healthy Homes Program. Working with our staff the member will learn skills, expand their social network and increase their employment prospects. Members for this service opportunity should be a military veteran or family member, or have a disability, and be economically disadvantaged (Eligible for TANF, SNAP, SCHIP, Section 8 Housing, Medicaid, or have a poor credit score, or be at least 60 days behind on one or more family bills)

VIEW JOBS 4/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-11T00:00 These positions are available in the Buffalo/Metro area. There are opportunities in Erie County. The AmeriCorps member will learn and participate in the role of Deaf Community Services Assistant (DCSA) and will be a member of the Deaf Access Services team involved with outreach and human services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing communities in WNY. The DCSA will serve under the daily guidance of the Community Services Navigator and will meet from time to time with the Executive Director in order to have exposure to the organizational leadership. Generally, service duties will be conducted during daytime hours but on occasion there may be evening or weekend expectations, particularly related to community outreach. There is a goal to develop and operationalize a Deaf volunteer program.
