The role of the Special Education Compliance Coordinator is a dedicated full-time position serving the operations promoting compliant programming for Insight PA Cyber Charter School students with disabilities. Individuals in this position must apply exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and various strategies to analyze comprehensive data tracking systems. Regular department routines are fast-paced and collaborative with specially designated duties overseen by the Special Education Compliance Coordinator(s). Strong knowledge of special education procedural compliance processes that align with State (PDE) and Federal (IDEA) guidelines will ensure the greatest success in this position.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of connections between all essential team roles and systems involved with changes in student enrollment

  • Management of department operations and systems access for general and special education teacher onboarding

  • Deliver live or recorded training sessions to educate team members on effective use of department systems or to introduce an innovative solution that enhances overall compliance

  • Perform assigned department projects and regular duties with autonomy and reliability

  • Conduct periodic reviews of student records to ensure alignment with general compliance needs, prior trainings, and/or corrective actions requested

  • Continuous assessment of department compliance status and facilitating communications as needed

  • Participate in IEP team meetings as assigned LEA as needed

  • Respond to family inquiries or concerns professionally and efficiently as needed

  • Collaboration with administrative personnel during important calendar events, such as: progress reporting, PA state reporting, end of year transition, state testing, etc.

  • Maintain points of contact for any complex issues that arise in coordinating and implementing related services

  • Attend local, regional, and/or national meetings, when applicable, for regular special education updates between and among Insight PA stakeholders

  • Enhance the special education teacher onboarding process to ensure all new teachers have an efficient, and guided framework to begin supporting Insight PA students with disabilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree(s) in special education or (closely related field) AND

  • Three (3) years of experience in a school and/or business office support role OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • All PDE required clearances for school-based personnel

Minimum Required Skill Set

  • Strong knowledge-base of Chapter 711 from the PDE code for Special Education programs

  • Experience with computer-based data analysis & project management solutions

  • Strong interpersonal skills for productive staff guidance & constructive feedback

  • Demonstrates strong judgment in special education compliance factors

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Proficiency in web-based applications and collaboration tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience supporting special education department operations for compliance and effectiveness of program delivery

  • Professional experience within a virtual learning and/or charter school model

  • Proficient knowledge regarding PDE charter school regulations for special education (Chapter 711)

  • This position can be performed as a home-based position, though in-office reporting may be requested when necessary. Must live in Pennsylvania.

  • The noise level in the office setting is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).

  • This position could include limited travel and could include limited overnight travel for state testing, professional development and department meetings. This is estimated to be less than 10% of the time.
