Overview United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley is seeking 12 individuals to serve as AmeriCorps Community Resource Navigators (CRN) at various nonprofits in serving Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties. The AmeriCorps CRN will assist individuals and families with accessing food, housing, mental health and income resources. Members will provide support to Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties. Positions are part-time (20-30hrs/week) for an 11-month term- beginning in August/September 2023. CRNs will have access to free telehealth visits via Healthiest You. Community Resource Navigators could… • Assist individuals in completing service applications. • Meet with local food banks, financial literacy organizations, housing agencies, schools, CareerLink and behavioral health services. • Offer workshops on topics to improve economic opportunity. • Help students disengaged from school and experiencing a known hardship access basic needs. Member Duties : Community Resource Navigators will be serving Carbon, Lehigh & Northampton counties through an AmeriCorps grant awarded to the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. CRNs will serve for a period of 11-months {Sept 2023-July 2024}; 22-25 hrs/week completing the following tasks: Assess individual/family's needs to identify what programs they are eligible for and help them through the application process
Assist in household budgeting and increase in knowledge of financial stability resources
Assess presenting problems and develop success plan with family/individual
Serve as link between clients and other care providers
Engage with community-based organizations to facilitate trainings and bridge gap in access to services
Collect data, track individual/family outcomes.
