We're expanding and need a full-time Medical Support Assistant (EMT or Paramedic) to join our Health Solutions Outreach Services (SOS) Team in Pueblo, CO.
Work schedule: 12 hour shifts 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM work days will vary.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Medical Support Assistant (EMT/Paramedic) you would be providing direct care to clients experiencing emotional crisis and serious psychiatric issues in the community. You would also have the distinct opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Health Solutions' professionals to serve individuals in Pueblo.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Outreach and Engagement.
Client check in and check out.
Keeps accurate, complete and up-to-date records with 100% compliance with set standards.
Maintains respect for privacy by adhering to confidentiality in all phases of work.
Adheres to the spirit of the mission statement while performing assigned duties.
Maintains competency and proficiency with the electronic health record.
Create a positive and compassionate interaction with patients.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by a supervisor/director.
Stocks supplies
Perform patient vitals, to include pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height and SPO2, and report any abnormal results to nursing/provider staff.
May perform phlebotomy
Updates patient information accurately and timely in electronic health record
Performs in house CLIA waived testing when applicable. Completes quality controls as required.
Sends and follows up on patient referrals and lab orders
Assists in completing all incoming paperwork/forms using patient information from EHR.
Monitor and maintain supply levels; ensure all expired supplies are regularly removed
Effectively and professionally communicate with patients, internal and external providers and documents all communication in medical records
Takes health history and obtain laboratory samples
Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for clients
Requires working under stress in emergency situations
Flexibility
Experience effectively working with children, adolescents, and adults with mental illness
Witness and collect urine samples
Works with other team members in the integration setting and follows universal precautions to protect self and patients
Be sensitive to cultural differences and able to work with patient from diverse racial, ethnic, educations and socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientation and gender identities
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients,
Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
Occasionally lifts and carries items.
Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
Requires exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
Requires working under stress in emergency situations or irregular hours.
Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record data electronically and communicating with patients.

Qualifications
What we're looking For-The Must-Haves
High school diploma/GED equivalent and,
Associates degree, or certified as an Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic
Experience working with Mental Health Crisis, or two years additional health care experience is preferred
Valid Colorado driver's license and acceptable driving record are required
Computer skills are required and knowledge of medical electronic health records is required
Candidate must pass background checks
Ability to work in a fast paced primary integrated healthcare/addiction recovery practice
